On Monday, Elvish Yadav created history by becoming the first wild card contestant to win Bigg Boss. Having entered Bigg Boss OTT 2 mid-way, the YouTuber managed to win hearts not just of the contestants but also fans of the show. With record breaking audiences hooked on to the finale and voting live for him, Elvish emerged victorious, beating Abhishek Malhan, who was declared as the runner-up.
“I am really happy as I hadn’t expected this. History has been created, and I made it happen. That definitely makes me feel special and it’s truly an amazing feeling,” he told indianexpress.com.

Abhishek on the show had spoken about how a wild card doesn’t deserve to win as they did not live the full journey. Elvish had shown his displeasure at the comment and seemed to fight back stronger for the trophy. When asked about the same, the winner smiled to say, “It was never like I wanted to pull him down to win the show. I didn’t want to prove anything to him or anyone. Even if he had won, I would have been happy as it was someone from the YouTube community. That was important for me.”
The community was often questioned by contestants, host Salman Khan and even fans. Elvish said that people did feel that they were not capable enough as they are ‘social media creators’. He said that compared to actors, many felt they were not good enough but him winning the show was an answer to the world.
We also asked Elvish Yadav about the buzz around him being backed by political leaders. Be it Tej Pratap Yadav, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga or even Smriti Irani, influential personalities mentioned him on his social media posts recently. Showing surprise, he said, “I am getting to know about all these now. Be it politicians, celebs or social media influencers, I want to thank them for supporting me. However, honestly, I did not seek any backing or did not keep a team to promote me like this. Even I am shocked about how so many people wanted me to win,” he added.
Thanking his fans for the love and support, Elvish said that he calls his ‘army’ his family as they have always supported him throughout. “I have no words to express my gratitude towards them. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. I am not good with expressing my feeling but they will understand this ‘systumm’.”
Manisha Rani was declared as the second runner-up, while Bebika Dhurve and Pooja Bhatt were also part of Bigg Boss OTT 2 finalists.
