On the occasion of Friendship Day, veteran actor Anupam Kher took to his Instagram account and shared pictures with his close friends, Anil Kapoor and late actor Satish Kaushik.
Anupam, Anil, and Satish are all smiles in the pictures, looking sharp in their black suits. Anupam had earlier shared that he has been friends with Anil and Satish for over 40 years. He was heartbroken when Satish passed away earlier this year, on March 9.
Sharing the pictures, Anupam wrote in the caption, “Happy Friendship Day! Missing Satish a little extra today!”
In April, on the occasion of Kaushik’s birth anniversary, Anupam organised an event to celebrate his late friend’s life.
During the event, Anupam recalled his last conversation with Satish. He said, “On 7th he came on my birthday, he called me up, maine kaha, ‘Tu bahut thaka hua sound kar raha hai. Kyu aisa kar raha hai (You sound very tired, what’s wrong)?’ Tu aisa kar, hospital mein chala ja, check in kar, don’t admit yourself, go and check in’. Toh usne kaha, ‘Don’t worry, main abhi marne waala nahi hoon’ (Go to the hospital and check in. Don’t get admitted, just check in. He said, ‘Don’t worry, I am not going to die’). And after three hours he unfortunately left us.”
Upon his death, Anil Kapoor also shared how he would miss his morning calls with Kaushik and would not have anyone to talk ill about Anupam Kher. The Ram Lakhan actor shared how he and Kaushik became friends after working together in the 1983 film Woh 7 Din. Kaushik only had one scene in the movie.
Satish Kaushik died after suffering a heart attack when he was in Delhi. Kaushik was visiting his friend in Gurugram when his health deteriorated and he asked his driver to take him to the hospital. However, he suffered a heart attack in the car and could not be resuscitated. The actor is survived by his wife Shashi Kaushik and daughter Vanshika.
Kaushik has acted in films like Mr India, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Saajan Chale Sasural, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Udta Punjab among others.
