Alia Bhatt reveals why she did not promote Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot, says she is thankful for all the love from her fans

Alia Bhatt made her big Hollywood debut last Friday with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan starrer Heart of Stone. But unlike other Indian stars whose Hollywood debuts had them touring the US and appearing on many international magazine covers and late night talk shows, Alia wasn’t seen doing any of that. During a recent AMA session on Instagram, Alia was asked why she wasn’t promoting her film and the actor shared the reason.

Alia said that because of the actors’ strike in the US, where they are fighting for fair residuals, the team decided to stand with SAG-AFTRA as a mark of solidarity. Alia said, “As a team, we stand behind the SAG-AFTRA strike, and as a mark of solidarity, we haven’t been promoting the movie.”

But, the actor added that she has been seeing all the love that’s been coming her way and said she’s thankful for it. “However I’ve been seeing all your messages and the outpouring of love!! Thankful for you all and sending all the love right back to you,” she wrote.

Alia Bhatt answered fan questions on Instagram.

While Alia did not promote Heart of Stone actively, the film’s cast recorded a bunch of interviews before the strike that were released in the week leading up to the movie.

Alia played Keya Dhawan in Heart of Stone who is introduced in the film as a tech genius. Her character is after ‘The Heart’, the AI device that can enable someone to destroy the world. The movie’s end hints at a sequel and it appears that if it is made, Alia will be a part of it.

Alia Bhatt has been enjoying a great time at the movies lately. Her work in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, where she starred with Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi, was greatly appreciated. Alia is yet to announce her next film.
