Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival on May 18. Aishwarya made a bold statement in a sparkling silver gown from the Sophie Couture label. The dress had a structured giant hood that covered the actor’s head, and an oversized black bow that brought it together.

The look is unusual for Aishwarya, who has been a fixture at the prestigious festival for several years. Fans on social media had mixed reactions to the outfit. Sharing details about the dress, the label posted, “Unveiling a mind-blowing creation from our Maison, paired with lightweight aluminum details, a signature corset and crystals, from the Cannes Capsule Collection.”
