Passengers in Pune have raised serious concerns over the recent delays and sudden cancellations of IndiGo flights with many taking to social media to report chaos, miscommunication and zero clarity from the airline.
Several flyers posted on X that flights on multiple routes including Pune–Bhopal, Nagpur–Pune, Pune–Bengaluru and Pune–Kolkata were either delayed by several hours or cancelled without prior intimation.
An X user tagged Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia writing “Multiple IndiGo flights are being delayed by 3 hours and more. Pune to Bhopal got delayed by 3 hours. Nagpur to Pune got cancelled yesterday and today.”
Another user wrote, “My sister missed her international Virgin Atlantic flight because @IndiGo6E delayed the Pune–BLR leg by 2h 40m.Then IndiGo refused rebooking, refused full refund, refused hotel, and left her stranded at BLR for 14+ hrs. This is SHAMEFUL. @DGCAIndia please act.”
A passenger, who was booked on flight 6E311 to Pune, wrote that there was no clarity from staff whether the flight will operate or not, adding that the situation created much confusion.
A user wrote, “@IndiGo6E Pathetic arrangements at Nagpur airport. after a delay of more than 1 hour for Pune 11.40 flight, the boarding started and again we have bought back to the boarding gate saying that pilot is having some flying hours issue. Not expected such services from Indigo.Pathetic”
Another wrote, “@IndiGo6E Flight 6E6564 PNR E4LNQC Pune to Bengaluru Sch dep was 5:55am. Delayed to 07:20am. Staff boarded us and we waited in the flight till 09:30am and now they say it get cancelled. No refreshment yet. How come Indigo staff is so responsible that everybody says check with other.”
A user shared that his Pune–Kolkata flight 6E-6561, scheduled for 6:50 pm on December 2, was delayed to 1:25 am on December 3, a delay of more than six hours. Describing the situation, he wrote, “People are agitated, clueless, having extreme difficulties. No refreshments. Next business day spoilt.”
In a follow-up post he added, “It’s 1:50 am, the flight is still standing at Pune. After 7 long hours, no refreshments. Very cunning attitude to deal with public. Not acceptable from IndiGo. Almost Rs 14000 paid though. Not acceptable from IndiGo. I want compensation for harassment & spoiling my next business day.”
The complaints were not limited to delays. An user wrote about a flight being abruptly cancelled, “After making them wait for 4 hours @IndiGo6E cancels the 5.55 flight from PNQ to BLR without any reason. Thanks to this lost 2 connecting flights to Kochi now.
@AAI_Official”. Similarly, another wrote, “IndiGo, the bare minimum is to inform passengers when a flight is cancelled. No updates, no message, just chaos at Pune airport.”
In several replies, IndiGo responded saying delays and cancellations occurred due to ‘operational reasons’ and they ‘regret the inconvenience caused’.
