Chennai, Hyderabad Coronavirus News October 14, 15 Highlights: Tamil Nadu recorded 4462 positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state tally to 6,70,392. Among these, Chennai reported 1130 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 1,85,573. The state recorded 52 deaths, putting the state toll at 10,423. 50 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities.

A bus damaged after a road caved-in following incessant rainfall across the state, at Gaganpahad-Shamshabad Road near Hyderabad, Wednesday. (PTI)

The downpour that inundated several residential localities of Hyderabad Tuesday night has claimed at least 19 lives, while some people are still missing. Nine of a family were washed away from Alinagar colony in Mailardevpally late Tuesday night. While one of them survived, bodies of two others were recovered Wednesday afternoon. Five are still missing.

Md Abdul Taher Qureshi, who survived, said he and his family members were standing near their gate when gushing water washed him away. In an attempt to save him, his younger brother Md Abdul Qureshi(55) and other family members, Md Abdul Wajid Qureshi, Abdul Wasey Qureshi (33), Humaira Tabassum (24), Abdul Wahab Qureshi (5) and Amera Bibi (7), were washed away. Bodies of two other family members, Darkhash Qureshi (32) and Farzana Tabassum (26) were recovered near Falaknuma.

A die-hard MS Dhoni fan has painted his entire house in Yellow as a tribute to his favourite IPL team Chennai Super Kings. Gopi Krishnan (30), who is working as a Forex Trader in Dubai for the past 12 years came back to his hometown in Arangur near the Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu a month ago. He has coloured his entire house in Yellow to show his support to Dhoni whom he considers as his role model.

Gopi Krishnan says Dhoni is everything to him and hopes he will lift the cup again for CSK this IPL season. “Since the IPL management didn’t allow fans inside the stadium, I came back home, or else I would have stayed back in Dubai and watched all CSK matches live. I never missed watching any CSK game, they are the champions of IPL. I am sure they will bounce back in this season also, Thala Dhoni will lift the cup again,” Gopikrishnan said.
