The 2025 Indian Premier League is the 18th edition of the two-month long cricketing extravaganza. Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings will be hoping to retain the trophy and thereby become the first team in history to win the title for a record 6th time. Mumbai Indians too are five-time victors. This year, the IPL starts from March 22 with a blockbuster clash between CSK and RCB in Chennai.

Ahead of the 2025 edition, Punjab Kings’ Shikhar Dhawan rules the roost for the most number of 4s hit in the history of the league with 750. He is followed by Australia and Delhi Capitals’ David Warner with 646 and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli with 643 boundaries. Rounding off the top 5 are Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma with 554 fours and retired Chennai Super Kings batter Suresh Raina with 506 boundaries.

In the 2023 season, Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill led the table with 85 boundaries from 17 matches. He was followed by Rajasthan Royals’ Yashasvi Jaiswal with 82 from 14 matches and CSK/New Zealand’s Devon Conway with 77 boundaries in 16 matches. Delhi Capitals and Australia batter David Warner came next with 69 boundaries from 14 matches and Virat Kohli came 5th with 65 fours from 14 innings.
