Shakib Al Hasan stays back for IPL, skips Bangladesh preparatory camp

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not be joining his national side for their preparatory camp ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 and will instead continue his campaign for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League starts on March 23 and the first match will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chennai are branded as one of the most dominant sides of the tournament as they have won the title thrice - 2010, 2011 and 2018 and are the only team to defend their title successfully. The other team to clinch the coveted title three times are Mumbai Indians. Delhi franchise are looking to make a fresh start in the league after years of underachievement and will henceforth be called as Delhi Capitals. They are the only franchise that have failed to make it to the finals of the league. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson had won the Orange Cap last season for his tally of 735 runs in 17 matches while the Purple Cap was won by Andrew Tye with 24 wickets under his belt in 14 matches.
