Journalism of Courage
Tamil film Vaanam Kottattum has been leaked online by piracy website Tamilrockers. The film released on February 7.
The film stars Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajessh and Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles, with Sarathkumar and Radikaa essaying pivotal roles.
Directed by Dhana Sekaran of Padaiveeran fame, Vaanam Kottattum marks the return of director Mani Ratnam as a producer since the film has been bankrolled under his home production banner Madras Talkies. He is also credited as the co-writer of the film.
Indianexpress.com's S Subhakeerthana gave Vaanam Kottattum a rating of 2.5 stars in her review.
In her review, Subhakeerthana wrote, "Vaanam Kottattum has excellent bits of writing, but as a whole, it is not consistent. It wants to be both a rooted family story and a revenge drama. We get a not-so-breezy relationship between the father and son, like Agni Natchathiram. The portions involving the family are endearing. Radikaa and Sarathkumar breeze through their parts. But we don’t have answers to many ‘whys’."
