Watch: Maharashtra farmer finds spotted ‘guest’ at his living room

It was a “guest” Dilip Jagtap, a farmer from Maharashtra’s Pimpalgaon Rotha village, would have least expected at his home after a long, cumbersome day at the field. The farmer got the fright of life after a male leopard casually walked into his house in Parner and settled in the living room.

However, prompt action by the Maharashtra forest department and non-profit organisation Wildlife SOS resulted in the rescue of the four-year-old leopard, who was later released back in the wild.

A video of the rescue operation was later shared on social media and it soon went viral. The 39-second clip shows the rescuers accessing the situation before preparing the tranquilliser to sedate the animal, who was trapped in one of the rooms in the house. After a three-hour-long operation, the animal was finally shot with a tranquiliser dart and transferred in a cage.
