India cricketer Shubman Gill, who turned 24 on Friday, got birthday wishes from Sachin Tendulkar who took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish Gill and wrote, “Happiest birthday to you @ShubmanGill. May the upcoming year be full of runs and great memories.”
Tendulkar’s birthday wishes for Gill, however, turned into a meme trend as netizens got overjoyed with the development. There have been rumours for long that Gill is dating Sachin’s daughter Sara Tendulkar even though both of them have never confirmed it. Tendulkar’s tweet reignited those rumours as netizens wanted to know the current status of their relationship.
Tendulkar’s tweet has received more than 66,000 likes so far and sparked a meme fest with many fans wondering if it was Sara who had wished Gill using her father’s phone.

Sara, who is 25, is Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar’s elder daughter. Her younger brother Arjun, 23, is also a cricketer who made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in the 2023 edition against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Meanwhile, Gill is considered one of the best young cricketers in the world. He holds the record of being the youngest cricketer to score a double century in One Day Internationals when he smashed 208 runs against New Zealand at Hyderabad in January 2023.
He was part of the IPL team Gujarat Titans when they won the title in 2022. In 2023, Gill went on to win the Orange Cap, scoring 890 runs, the second highest run total in IPL history.
