Telangana Food Safety Department officials raided Hyderabad’s popular eatery Rameshwaram Cafe on May 23. Days after the scrutiny, the eatery’s co-founder Raghavendra Rao released a video apology. However, the now-viral video irked social media users.
“We are here to deliver the best products as we were promising and coming using the best ingredients for everyone. Little mistakes we have done and I sincerely apologise for it,” Rao said in the video.
“Our vision is to play globally. We know we can’t make a single mistake. I take it as a lesson. I have told my entire team to correct each and every step so that we don’t go wrong. This is how we learn. I promise you, and want to state very strongly that all our raw ingredients are of premium quality,” he added.

The video accumulated over 8,70,000 views on the platform. Several users bashed him for his “aggressive” body language. “His aggressive body language is not resonating with his words.. its like I will take care of those who said there are expired items, but please eat in my outlet,” a user wrote.
“Not going there after seeing this. He’s threatening the customers,” another user reacted. “Hi body language is not like apologizing..it is as if he is warning customers that don’t stop eating at their outlets just because these raids happened,” a third user said.
On May 23, the Telangana Food Safety Department officials found several expired products from Rameswaram Cafe, which included 100 kg of Urad Dal worth Rs 16,000, 10 kg of Nandini Curd, 300 kg of unlabeled jaggery and eight litres of milk.
The other co-founder Divya had earlier released a statement claiming the expired products were not for consumption.
