The country has been busy counting notes and going haywire after PM Narendra Modi’s epic announcement on November 8 that the currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations will be discontinued and declared illegal starting midnight.
About more than 12 hours after the declaration, when the people in the country were slowly coming in terms with PM’s move to curb black money hoarding and other illegal activities, Rahul Gandhi, finally decided to react to the news! And he was not in favour of what Modi had decided – no surprises there.
In a series of tweets, this is what the Congress vice-president said: “Once again MrModi shows hw little he cares abt ordinary ppl of this country-farmers,small shopkeepers,housewives-all thrown into utter chaos” and did not stop at that. He followed it with: “While the real culprits sit tight on their black money stashed away abroad or in bullion/ real estate.Well done Mr Modi”. If you thought that was about it, then it wasn’t. He also had a question for “Mr Modi”. He asked how is replacing Rs 1,000 notes with Rs 2,000 notes going to make black money hoarding harder, with the hashtag #Modilogic.
Though, there are people who probably will agree with what Gandhi said, but, Twitterati did not seem like they were in a forgiving mood and decided to troll him left, right and centre for his almost a day-late reaction.
