What’s doing the rounds on social media is an official release put out by the Pakistan Press Information Department, which says that Donald Trump praised Nawaz Sharif and called him a “terrific guy”. He also said Pakistanis are “one of the most intelligent people” from “a fantastic country, fantastic place” (talking in superlatives is classic Trump).

According to the release, Trump told Sharif that he is doing some amazing work in the country and that he should feel free to call him any time. Apparently, the Pakistani leader told him to “address and find solutions to the outstanding problems” when Trump told him that he is “ready and willing to play any role”.

Interestingly, there is no word about the same from Trump’s office.

“Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif called President-elect USA Donald Trump and felicitated him on his victory. President Trump said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif you have a very good reputation. You are a terrific guy. You are doing amazing work which is visible in every way. I am looking forward to see you soon,” the press release stated.

As a result, “Nawaz Sharif” is trending on Twitter and tweeple have added their own sense of humour to the mix. Sample these.
