The extreme heatwave in Madhya Pradesh is causing severe distress to humans and wildlife alike. Residents are struggling to cope with the scorching heat, as temperatures reach 46 degree celsius. The intense heat is compounded by frequent power cuts, exacerbating the discomfort and distress of the population.
In Ratlam, temperatures have soared past 45 degree Celsius, leading to the death of several bats from sunstroke. A viral video showed bats on the ground, one of them struggling to stay alive.
A similar alarming situation was also reported from the Balaghat district where numerous birds have been found dehydrated.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts, including Ratlam, Dhar, and Rajgarh, urging residents to take necessary precautions. Rajgarh recorded the highest temperature in the state at 46.8 degrees Celsius.
The relentless heatwave is making daily life challenging and forcing people to avoid outdoor activities during the day.
