While finding a place to rent as a bachelor is a difficult task as landlords prefer letting out their property to families, there may be another side to the story as well. A man shared on Twitter photos of a flat that had been let out to a bachelor in Bengaluru and how it was trashed and left in a deplorable condition.

Ravi Handa, a podcast host, shared the photos that he said he got from Reddit. He claimed that the flat was left like this by an “educated bachelor” who worked in an MNC. The whole place looked like a garbage dump with innumerable empty beer bottles lying around everywhere. The kitchen looked so filthy with waste lying around the slab and cabinets broken. With so much garbage inside the flat, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

“This is why people don’t like renting to bachelors. An “educated” bachelor working in a “large MNC” did this in Bangalore. Got these pics from Reddit,” Handa shared.

The landlord from Bengaluru had revealed on Reddit how he lent his 2 BHK flat to an “educated bachelor” who worked for a “large MNC”. After paying the rent for 3-4 months, the tenant disappeared suddenly and later called to tell that he needed to vacate the flat and wanted the security deposit back. However, he was hesitant to hand over the flat properly which raised suspicion.

When the landlord went to visit the flat, he was in for a big shock as the place was filled with empty liquor bottles. The windows had been left open, which led to pigeons coming in and defecating everywhere. There was also a dirty mattress lying in the middle of the living room and the kitchen and toilet were in a big mess.

“It’s a rare case, 98% of bachelors clean up after themselves,” commented a user. “One off case. Also all homeowners deduct 1 month rent for painting and cleaning charges,” said another.

Another netizen shared a similar experience even though he said he had lent his flat to a mother-daughter duo. He also shared photos showing the deplorable condition of the flat.

“I have similar horror stories to share by renting out to very educated families working in marquee firms. Only that I never return deposit till there is a proper handover,” shared another person.
