Matrimonial ads usually state what a groom or bride’s family is looking for. In most cases, people plainly mention their expectations in terms of educational qualification, religion, job and even height as well as weight.
However, when a “social media influencer” posted a matrimonial ad, the list of expectations included not being camera shy and even the ability to create relationship reels. Social media influencers are nowadays raking up likes and views by posting content from their married lives too. A photograph of this matrimonial ad is now doing the rounds on the internet and netizens have been left in splits.
The ad said a person named Riya is looking for a suitable reel partner-plus-groom. The groom is also expected to create content with trending music like ‘Moi-Moi’.
The matrimonial ad read, “Social media influencer looking for a groom. My name is Riya I’m looking for a suitable reel partner + groom. The guy should not be camera-shy and willing to create relationship reels with me. Knows how to come up with content around trending music like ‘MOI-MOI’. Should not be from a joint family. Before reaching out pls watch Amazon miniTV’s Half Love Half Arranged to know what type of guys I DON’T LIKE. He should know Premiere Pro so he can edit my reels/vlogs. Contact: riya.kuku72@gmail.com.”
X user Aayushi Gupta captioned the ad, “probably the WILDEST matrimonial ad ever.” A user commented, “Reel-ationship goals!” Another user wrote, “She is not searching a groom but a unpaid labour..” A third user commented, “Why does this feel like a LinkedIn job post.”
