As the fourth phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 began on Monday, Google Doodle celebrated the day with a Doodle showing an image of an index finger marked by a purple-black indelible ink. Upon clicking, Google directs the user to the search results related to the latest Lok Sabha elections 2024 updates. The fourth phase of voting is being held in 96 Parliamentary constituencies across nine states and one union territory.

Polling will be held in all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 13 in Uttar Pradesh, five in Bihar, four in Jharkhand, eight in Madhya Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, four in Odisha, eight in West Bengal and one in Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged youth and women to participate in the fourth phase of voting. “In today’s 4th Phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 96 seats across 10 States and UTs are going to the polls. I am sure people in these constituencies will vote in large numbers and the young voters as well as women voters will power this surge in voting. Come, let’s all do our duty and strengthen our democracy!” PM Modi wrote on X.

Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu along with their respective family members, were among the early voters in the state on Monday.

The voter turnout in the first three phases of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 was 66.14 per cent, 66.71 per cent and 65.68 per cent, respectively.
