Hollywood star Tom Cruise finally secured his first-ever golden statue, an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards last month, a first in his illustrious career spanning more than 40 years.
To mark the milestone, Amul India rolled out a special tribute, unveiling a new topical dedicated to the actor. Sharing the artwork on social media, Amul captioned it, “Amul Topical: Hollywood star gets Honorary Oscar for his legacy of work!”
The illustration shows Cruise onstage, holding his golden statuette, dressed in a sleek black suit and flashing his trademark grin. The creative also features the cheeky line: “Yeh Oscar Tomhare liye!”
Fans celebrated the tribute as much as the award itself. The post quickly went viral, drawing comments from delighted social media users. One wrote, “A Hollywood legend receives an Honorary Oscar, celebrating a lifetime of iconic work.” Another joked, “Tomae cruised this well. As always.”
Another individual wrote, “I cant be the only one thinking this is Charlie kirk.”
Someone else questioned, “Srk ne bhi first time national award jita jo is desh ka hii hai or india ko overseas me proud bhi dilata hai uska nhi dala tha (“SRK also won a National Award for the first time, an award from our own country, and he makes India proud overseas as well, but they didn’t make one (a topical) for him).”
This isn’t Amul’s first salute to Cruise. Earlier, the brand had marked the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning with another playful sketch, this one depicting Cruise dangling from a helicopter in classic Ethan Hunt fashion but, in true Amul style, clutching a slice of buttered toast. The taglines read, “Better Ethan The Rest!” and “Impossibly tasty.”
As for Cruise, the actor delivered a heartfelt speech upon receiving the honor, reflecting on how cinema has shaped his life and identity.
