The players of the Indian men’s cricket team are some of the most beloved celebrities in the country. Fans often dedicate carefully made artwork to the top cricketers. Most recently, AI artists have started to base their artwork around the top league cricketers.

An AI art series that shows a group of top cricket players significantly aged is creating a buzz online. The series, made by a digital artist who goes by the Instagram username @sahixd, shows cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, M S Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, K L Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Cheteshwar Pujara, in their older avatar.

The futuristic portraits were made using Midjourney, a prompt-based AI art tool. Interestingly, many people noted the portraits were not accurate as many of the players resembled older celebrities more than themselves.

Commenting on the post, an Instagram user wrote, “Ravindra jadeja = Rabindra nath Tagore’. Another person wrote, “Kl rahul = SS Rajamauli”.

Making an observation, an Instagram user remarked, “Being old doesn’t mean they’ll be poor. But they will definitely lose hair. Missing both these points in images.” Someone wrote the cricketers were “All are looking like KGF villains”.

In April, Twitter user Gaurav Agarwal (@7Gaurav8) had shared a set of photos that imagined Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, M S Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Ruturaj Gaikwad, K L Rahul, and others as kids. However, many of the photos had retained some features of maturity like facial hair which left an uncanny effect.
