A woman from Afghanistan, who is a student of New York University, shared on Twitter a heart-warming story of a driver who helped her reach her destination after she got on the wrong bus at midnight.
Shkula Zadran, who is doing her Master’s in Global Affairs, tweeted that she found herself on the opposite side of the city after she mistakenly got on the wrong bus. It was midnight and her phone was dead. She also didn’t have any cash or cards with her. She was feeling “lost and stressed” but the bus driver was kind enough to help her, she wrote. He offered her a ride and drove her back to her destination.
Zadran got the driver’s number and tried to send him a few bucks to show her appreciation, but he refused to take it, she further wrote. She tagged the Twitter account of NJ Transit, New Jersey’s statewide transit provider, and requested it to appreciate the man named Noel, who is going to retire soon.

Zadran also shared a conversation she had with the bus driver. She offered some money to him and asked him to accept the payment. However, the driver refused and said, “No thanks, people suppose to help each other.” He also wished her a wonderful night and blessed her and her family.
Zadran in another tweet wrote, “He decided to be kind and help me right after a bunch of passengers cussed him out literally for no reason. The people who work in the public services industry deserve respect and appreciation. We can simply say a “Thank You” after our ride.”

The post melted the hearts of netizens. “There are always people who are eager to extend their helping hands,” a Twitter user commented. “He has grown up as a real man and this world need many like him,” another said.
