VIDEO: Donald Trump throws paper towels into crowd in hurricane-hit Puerto Rico

During his short visit US President Donald Trump bragged about USA's disaster mangement response,joked about Puerto Rico burdening the federal budget and also undermined the extent of the calamity. However, people went berserk when he was filmed throwing paper towels to hurricane victims.

The US and its neighbouring countries saw many horrific storms and hurricanes in the recent past. Amid criticism about his response to disasters, US President Donald Trump dedicated a golf trophy to the hurricane victims of Puerto Rico, Texas, and Florida. While people were still trying to figure out how it would help victims in any way, the president paid a visit to Puerto Rico. But again led to another controversy and people on social media have been slamming him.

During his short trip that lasted only a few hours, he made a stop at Calvary Chapel in San Juan interacting and distributing supplies to those affected by the storm, where he was filmed throwing paper towels into the crowd. Two weeks after Hurricane Maria created a havoc in the Caribbean island, which is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the northeast Caribbean Sea, Trump visited Puerto Rico for the first time.

Though the catastrophe is being deemed as the worst hurricane in 90 years, many of Puerto Rico’s 3.4 million residents are still struggling without basic necessities, Trump joked about the extent of the damage and compared it to Hurricane Katrina. “The most memorable points of his trip came — as the posts below note – when the president joked Puerto Rico was burdening the federal budget, said officials should be “proud” Puerto Rico didn’t end in as many lives lost as other storms like Hurricane Katrina, and threw paper towels to storm victims at a church, ” CBS News reported.

Soon, Tweeple started slamming the POTUS for throwing paper towels. Wile many were in disbelief, others trolled him brutally. and later it became the butt of all jokes and turned into a viral meme. Sample these.
