Taylor Swift enjoys a colossal fan following across the world. Swifties are mourning the death of the pop icon’s 9-year-old fan, Scarlett Oliver, who died of cancer this month. In February, Swift had made a heartwarming gesture and gave the ’22’ hat to Oliver during her Eras Tour concert in Sydney.

The news of Oliver’s demise was shared by her father Paul on his wife’s Instagram handle. Sharing a heartfelt note, Paul wrote, “My Angel, so strong, so brave, so beautiful. Nothing will ever be the same again. Don’t forget me and please find a way to let me know you are ok. Goodnight baby, I love you – Dad. It’s just not fair.”

Several Swifties paid tribute to Scarlett Oliver ever since they heard the news. “I am so sorry. I am so, so sorry. I ache for you. Scarlett seemed like an incredible girl and I hope you always feel her with you,” a user wrote. “I am so sorry for your loss. She will always be with you, like a warm blanket of love,” another user commented.

“My condolences, on behalf of Taylor Swift’s Brazilian fans,” a fan from Brazil wrote.

Ahead of Taylor Swift’s Sydney concert, Oliver’s family reached out to Swifties to help her receive the ’22’ hat at the concert. Sharing about Oliver’s health on Facebook, her stepmother Natalie informed that the 9-year-old was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer with no cure in October 2023. “Scarlett is a 9-year-old from Perth, and she was diagnosed in October last year with a high grade glioma — this is a very aggressive brain cancer with no cure,” Natalie wrote on Facebook. She also shared that they reached out to the Make A Wish Foundation to help Oliver meet the singer.

The 14-time Grammy winner met Oliver during her Eras tour concert in Sydney, Australia, and gave the ’22’ hat to her.

“you are AMAZING!! Thank you so much for making Scarlett’s dream come true!! To everyone who shared her story to help us make this happen we are beyond greatful!!! Scarlett is on top of the world right now!! I’m so emotional and happy this morning,” Natalie wrote on Instagram.
