A video featuring an avalanche witnessed by skiers in Utah, US has gone viral on social media. The video shows a massive blanket of snow coming down Mount Timpanogos and engulfing a large area.
The clip shared by Twitter user Chris Harrington shows two skiers watching the avalanche in awe. From the snow-clad hill, a massive amount of snow is seen descending and covering the area.
The man recording the video is heard saying, “That is one of the biggest avalanches I have ever seen in my life. It’s gonna… us.” The skiers get scared as the snow approaches them and one of them said, “Dude, I hope there is nobody in Doob hill. Here it comes bro.” Soon, the snow engulfs them.
“A friend just shared this with me. Avalanche at @SundanceResort. Just now,” read the caption of the clip. Harrington added in the comments section that no one was injured. “Have confirmed with Sundance that this was off property and there were no injuries,” he wrote.
Netizens were left stunned by the clip and many wondered how the skiers remained calm in the situation. A user commented, “General thought: If you see a major avalanche like thingy rolling your way, assume you are in harms way and get out of there. I’m shocked those people just hung around to video and snap photos.” Another user wrote, “WOW! What incredible footage #avalance.” A third user commented, “I’m sprinting in the opposite direction in this scenario.”
A Fox13 report said that the “powercloud” avalanche halted in the dry lakes area outside the resort.
