Now, a video showing Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk dancing to Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk during her quarterfinal match against Croatia’s Donna Vekic has gone viral.

As she grooved back to her side of the court, the crowd was visibly engaged. A post on X with the video said, “Marta Kostyuk dancing to Bruno Mars during the break before the third set. Crowd was really into it too!”

Reacting to the video, one user said, “How did she not claim the “Don’t believe me? Just watch!” line!!!” Another user said, “I love athletes like these.” Meanwhile, a third user explained, “My new favorite player!!” A third user wrote, “Ok I admit the groove is legendary.”

In a tense Olympic tennis quarterfinal, Kostyuk, 22, lost to Croatia’s Donna Vekic, 28, with a score of 4:6, 6:2, 6:7 (8:10).

Kostyuk struggled initially but rallied to win the second set and led in the third. Despite saving game points in the 10th and 12th games, Kostyuk lost the tie-break after Vekic converted her sixth match point.
