Moo Deng, the “attention-seeking” hippo who has catapulted Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Si Racha, Chonburi, Thailand to international fame, has amazed spectators yet again with an incredible take on Michael Jackson’s legendary moonwalk.

A video circulating on Instagram has captured this adorable yet temperamental pygmy hippopotamus impressing her fans with the moonwalk, taking several steps backwards in her enclosure in the smoothest possible fashion.

While some dubbed her “problematic pygmy” due to her feisty demeanour, most people continue enjoying her unique talents. Little Moo Deng has made headlines for various antics, the most prominent being playfully biting her trainer on the leg.

The video was posted along with a caption that reads, “Moo Deng getting everyone in the mood for the weekend. Is there anything she can’t do?”

The video has over a lakh views already, and many comments. One user wrote, “Why is that everything I needed to see today.” Another user commented, ”Michael Jackson who?” A third said, “she’s a rockstar.”

According to a New York Post report, many social media users have labelled the little princess “kind of mean,” criticising her for “always choosing violence.” However, officials at the Chonburi Zoo are more concerned about how Moo Deng is being treated by the throngs of visitors.

Some people have thrown objects at her and even splashed her with water to try to rouse her from sleep. Zoo director Narongwit Chodchoi said that these actions are “not only cruel but also dangerous.”
