Born on July 10 this year, Moo Deng is a pygmy hippo baby at the Khao Khew Open Zoo in Thailand. The animal was open to the public to watch on July 25 and gradually gained attraction due to its tiny size and endearing personality.
It was during the coronavirus pandemic when Attapon Nundee, a zookeeper, began filming the animals he was assigned to look after. He fell in love with Deng the day it was born. “The moment I saw Moo-Deng born, I set a goal to make her famous, but I never expected it would spread abroad. I thought she could be famous in Thailand but not internationally,” Nundee told The Guardian.
Deng soon broke the internet to become the most-loved animal.
