The launch of a new microblogging platform by Meta has caught the fancy of netizens, with more than 30 million users signing up in just a few hours of its launch on Thursday in more than 100 countries.
To sign up, users just need to sign in with their Instagram profiles. Their bio and existing network of friends and followers then get imported to Threads. However, ever since the launch of Threads, there has been a meme fest on Twitter with people comparing the two social media platforms.
From sharing a photo of a barber threading the eyebrows of a customer to show how it feels to be on the Threads app to sharing other popular memes to describe how netizens are navigating through both the apps, Twitterati had a field day. Many also joked about how the Threads app logo looked like a jalebi.

Last month, there was buzz that the billionaires behind the two powerful social media giants, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, will engage in a cage match with each other.
Musk, the owner of Twitter, responded to a tweet with “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol” on June 21. Zuckerberg, who is the owner of Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta, posted a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption “send me location”.
Musk then responded with two words: “Vegas Octagon.” He then tweeted: “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus,’ where I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing.” Lex Fridman, a Russian American computer scientist and podcaster, had posted about conducting training sessions with the two billionaires.
