Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez Wedding: Two years after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos got engaged to Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez in Europe, the couple is now all set to tie the knot at a lavish wedding ceremony in Italy’s Venice. Although the high-profile couple has not officially shared the details of the wedding, the celebrations will begin in Venice on June 24, the Associated Press reported.
Those closest to the couple believe this wedding will be far from ordinary. “I think it’s gonna be like a Princess Di thing,” Sánchez’s older brother, Paul Sánchez, told TMZ in March 2025. “It’s gonna be an amazing event. It’s gonna be star-studded and fun.”
From potential venues to the star-studded Hollywood guest list, top-tier planners, and even where the bride is finding the dress, here is everything we know so far about the highly anticipated Bezos-Sánchez wedding.
Putting to rest earlier rumours of a lavish $600 million winter wedding in Aspen, Colorado, Bezos and Sànchez will tie the knot in Venice. According to PEOPLE, the news was addressed by Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, who confirmed the couple’s nuptials will take place in the historic city.
“The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded,” Brugnaro said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. He also added that the celebration would be intimate and well-managed. “Only 200 guests will be invited, and the event won’t disrupt the city,” he shared.
The mayor further informed that the city is closely coordinating with event organisers to ensure zero disruption to residents and their daily livelihoods. “We are mutually working and supporting the organisers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city,” the statement read.
According to a June 2025 report by the Associated Press, the couple is making a conscious effort to support local businesses, sourcing approximately 80 per cent of their wedding supplies from Venetian vendors. Among those contributing is Rosa Salva, the city’s oldest pastry shop, which is crafting goody bags for guests. Laguna B, a renowned design studio known for its handblown Murano glass, is also involved in the festivities.
While Bezos and Sánchez have not officially disclosed the exact location, several possibilities have been reported. According to some reports, the wedding may take place aboard Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru. San Giorgio Maggiore is another potential wedding spot. The island is known for its historic church and cultural centre. Another venue reportedly is the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a centuries-old waterfront building with rich Venetian history.
As for their upcoming wedding, the guest list promises to be just as glamorous as the couple’s engagement guests. As reported by PEOPLE, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have been invited, along with Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner. Sánchez’s longtime friends Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian are also rumoured to be attending. Additionally, two of her fellow Blue Origin spaceflight passengers, Katy Perry and Gayle King, may be part of the celebrations.
The report also shared that the couple will stay at the luxurious Aman Venice, a historic hotel on the Grand Canal where George and Amal Clooney got married in 2014. The guests will reportedly stay at four more of the city’s top hotels, including the St. Regis Venice, the Gritti Palace, Hotel Danieli, and the Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
Guests have been encouraged to make charitable donations rather than bringing gifts. As a return gift, the guests will receive curated goody bags featuring Murano glass pieces from design studio Laguna B and artisanal pastries from the local bakery Rosa Salva.
Fashion icon Anna Wintour has reportedly designed Sánchez’s wedding dress. However, Sánchez and Bezos were spotted attending a fitting at a Dolce & Gabbana boutique in Milan in March this year, creating a buzz around the bride-to-be’s wedding looks.
Luxury hotels across Venice, along with many of the city’s water taxis, have been fully booked ahead of the high-profile wedding. According to Italian media reports, the influx of celebrity guests and preparations for the grand wedding could result in parts of the city being temporarily shut down.
Residents are also concerned about “mass tourism” or “overtourism”. Locals argue that the increasing volume of visitors has driven residents out and caused lasting damage to the city’s fragile historical sites. Critics have also slammed the city officials for prioritising the “ultra-wealthy” over the needs of locals.
