Videos of Indians abroad getting pulled up for questionable public behaviour seem to have become a recurring trend online. The latest clip to spark debate shows an Indian man washing his feet in London’s River Thames.

The video was posted by The Last Hour News By Avni Sharma, which claimed in its caption that the man didn’t stop at rinsing his feet but went on to bathe in the river as well.

The footage has divided viewers. Several British users criticised the act, calling it “unacceptable public behaviour” for a tourist in a major city. Others, however, pushed back, arguing that the man may not have intended any disrespect and that cultural habits often play a role.

One comment read, “Dont wash ur feet bro they are drinking these water pls dont wash.”

But many others saw no issue with it. An individual wrote, “I dont get it…..is it wrong to wet your feet in a river it’s not he is taking his clothes off or something……. people often do that when they go for treaking.”

Another user wrote, “Should be okay as long as he is not bathing with soap. No big deal. This isn’t some sacred fountain of youth.”

A more philosophical take came from a viewer who wrote, “Forbidden to treat water as water, earth as soil and air as air. This is the world we are building, and also consuming.”

This isn’t an isolated incident either. In recent weeks, clips from Canada showed an Indian family bathing, and even using soap, in natural water bodies. These repeated moments are now feeding online stereotypes and adding to the negativity directed at Indians living overseas.
