Nature never fails to amaze us, and a recent viral video captures yet another incident that affirms this. In it, an elephant is seen calmly – almost playfully – signalling to a man asking him to move away from its path.
The short clip, which many on social media have found to be endearing, shows the man quickly obliging when he realises that he is in the elephant‘s way. Many said the elephant’s composed and considerate behaviour is a true testament to the gentleness of wildlife.
Shared by @AMAZlNGNATURE on X, the 23-second video was posted with the caption: “Elephant gently reminding the human that he is in the way.”

The video has raked in over 5 lakh views and people are flooding the comments section.
One user commented, “I love elephants. So gentle and intelligent.” Another wrote, “How polite it was; its mother taught it manners. Another human would either swear at the person and/or push that person out of the way.”
Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, an elephant named Raja has become a local celebrity for his unique habit of “collecting tax” from travellers. Known for his punctuality, the 40-year-old elephant positions himself along the Buttala-Kataragama road, halting vehicles as they pass. His request is simple — he expects food in exchange for letting them proceed.
When vehicles come to a halt, Raja confidently extends his trunk, nudging the drivers for his share. There is often a bit of back-and-forth, but the determined toll collector always gets his due. Only after his “food tax” is settled does he graciously allow the travellers to proceed. Locals have grown fond of Raja’s routine, calling him the most reliable tax collector around.
