Bride shares her wedding with parents who had eloped 40 years ago on same date, netizens in awe

“On this day, 40 years ago two teenagers decided to head to the courthouse and get married without telling anyone. They then proceeded to head to their homecoming football game and their families didn’t find out that they were married until reading it in the Sunday paper a few days later. From then on, these two worked hard, fell deeper in love and had momentary hiccups that led to lifelong forgiveness.

“They raised three children who see their parents as the best role models on building a foundation of life, love and happiness. You two never had a wedding cake or a first dance. But tonight, we wanted to change that. So, here’s to the past 40 years and to 40 more. Happy anniversary we love you!” the woman said in a heartfelt speech standing next to her parents.

“40 years of sacrifice and they finally got their moment. What a beautiful gift from their daughter,” says the caption of the video.
