He was first noticed by cricket coaches when he troubled batsmen and kept hitting them on the head. Now a member of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming Australia series, Musa Khan will be expected to do the same if he gets the chance to play.
According to a Dawn report, Khan’s pace was noticed in 2016 by a senior in school who suggested he appear for trials that were taking place at the Islamabad Gymkhana. With little control over line and length, Khan stuck to bowling short balls that batsmen struggled to face and some even got hit on their helmets. He was then stopped but it reportedly also got him into the coaching programme.
The tall youngster was picked for the Pakistan team participating in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. He was then a member of the Pakistan Under-19 squad for its tour of Australia in 2017, in which he grabbed five wickets in two matches. In the U19 World Cup he took 3 wickets against South Africa, and 4 wickets against India in the semi-finals which they lost.

Former captain Misbah ul Haq endorsed Khan to play first-class cricket for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, the team he played in. Misbah’s recommendation came after he faced Khan while the former captain was playing in Islamabad United.
Khan made his List A debut for the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines team in the 2018-19 Quaid-e-Azam cup in October 2018. He made the most of the opportunity and grabbed 12 wickets in the three matches he played.

While playing first-class cricket in Karachi he was picked for the Pakistan Super League to play for Islamabad United, said a Dawn report.
Khan played his first T20 for Islamabad United in 2019 in the Pakistan Super League in which he impressed with his pace, but lacked accuracy. He played in the Northern’s squad in the 2019-20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament
Hailing from Chitral, a part of Pakistan not traditionally known for its cricketing talent, Khan and fellow young speedster Naseem Shah could surprise during the upcoming tour of Australia.
