Earlier, skipper Yash Dhull helped India recover from a poor start and post 232 against the Proteas. Dhull’s solid 82 off 100 balls laid the cornerstone of India’s fighting total. The start of play was delayed by around 40 minutes due to rain and amid the prevailing conditions, South Africa decided to put India in to bat. Left-arm pacer Aphiwe Mnyanda rocked the Indian top-order by trapping in-form opener Harnoor Singh (1) and his partner Angriksh Raghuvanshi (5) infront of the stumps. Left-handed Harnoor, who was India’s leading run getter in the Asia Cup and scored a century in the warm-up game against Australia here, fell to a ball that nipped back in. Raghuvanshi played around Mnyanda’s inswinger and was plumb in front, leaving India for 11 for two.

And it's all over. Bawa takes his fourth. India win the opener. South Africa all out for 187. Bawa bowls and Dhull takes the catch. Like clockwork. India win by 45 runs.
Not a good comeback from Hangargekar. Very expensive with a free hit to boot. 2 fours in this over. South Africa 185/9 after 45 overs.
And that's Ostwal's 5th as he gets his fifer. Boast holes out! Fired in on a length outside off, Boast swings hard and miscues it to long-on. And just one wicket left for India to win this one. SA 165/9 after 43 overs.
And that's the big wicket of GV Heerden. And that's another wicket for Bawa. He takes his third. And Dhull takes this one as well. SA are 8 done. SA 158/8 after 41.3 overs.
And another. South Africa are just skittling at this point. What a collapse. Ostwal takes his fourth wicket. Spins away and knocks the off-stump over. SA 150/7 after 39 overs.
And it's Ostwal again. Knocked him over. Copeland walks. Beats the defensive outside edge of the batter and crashes into the sticks. India need to take just 4 more. SA 150/6 after 38.2 overs.
Bawa strikes. Totally cleaned him up. India on the front foot again. Simelane falls. South Africa are 5 down. Just 5 more to go for India. SA 147/5 after 37.3 overs.
And that's a big wicket down. Brevis is gone. The umpires send it upstairs and the soft signal is NOT OUT! And yes, it's gone!!! The fingers seem to be underneath the ball and the TV umpire rules it in favour of the fielding side. SA 4 down. 138/4 after 35.4 overs.
And that's another 50-run partnership up for South Africa. Heerden rocks back to punch to deep point. South Africa 133/3 after 35 overs.
Heerden hits a maximum. He gets in on the act now. Ostwal has been smacked over long-off. Can't be happy about this. 8 off the over. SA 127/3 after 32 overs.
The last 16 overs have yielded just 43 runs. Pressure building all the time. Tambe to bowl the 28th over. And 100 up for South Africa. And that's a SIXXXX!! Brevis comes down the track and smokes it straight back down the ground! 9 off the over. SA 107/3 after 28 overs.
Brevis has struck a maximim. Superb shot. Absolutely smacked this over extra cover! Bowler under pressure. Nishant a bit shaken. Good comeback by him though. 5 dots to follow. SA 89/3 after 22 overs.
That's another down for South Africa. Ostwal takes another as Bana provides the assist. GJ Maree's struggle comes to an end. South Africa are 3 wickets down now after 20.3 overs. SA 83/3.
Is this the 3rd wicket? The keeper thinks so. Stumping appeal. We go upstairs. The batsman is safe. The backfoot toe stayed well behind the crease. Brevis survives. SA 82/2 after 20 overs.
Kaushal Tambe brought in the attack to get another South Africa wicket. Dhull is looking to his spinners to knock South Africa down a peg or two. 4 off this over. 18 gone. SA 78/2.
And the partnership is broken. And that's a catch in behind the wicket. Kitime is gone for 25. What a wicket for India. These two were making life difficult for them. Ostwal was introduced to do just that and he comes good. SA 58/2 after 11.5 overs.
That's back to back fours for South Africa as Brevis takes charge. The latter one was a bit lucky but luck favours the brave. Suddenly South Africa look like they have found their groove. And a 6 by Kitime. What a shot!!! That's his and South Africa's second 6. 50 partnership up. Expensive over. South Africa 55/1 after 11 overs.
India bowlers have started well and pegged the South Africans back. There was a moment in the match where India had bowled 16 dots before South Africa could hit a boundary. Kitime hits another one in the 10th over. He rocked back and scythes fiercely through point. And a 6 to follow. Great over for South Africa. Kitime walks down and helps the shortish ball on its way over fine leg. SA 38/1 after 10 overs.
Dewald Brevis hits South Africa's first four of the innings. Stands tall and cuts in front of square on the off-side. Good shot. SA 6/1 after 2.4 overs.
EJ Cunningham and Valintine Kitime are at the crease. EJ Cunningham is on strike. RS Hangargekar will open the attack. And that's a wicket. What a start by India. Cunningham LBW. SA 0/1 after 0.4 overs.
India U19 are all out on 232 in 46.5 overs. A competitive total if not par but they need to bowl very well to defend this.
Just as we were saying Kaushal Tambe was playing well, he is gone for 35. RS Hangargekar is gone off the next ball and suddenly India are nine down. Matthew Boast picks up 3 wickets in his spell. IND: 226/9 after 46 overs
Bowled!! Bana tried to make a bit of room but fails to connect. A strange dismissal as the ball clipped the off-stump but somehow it's just the leg-bail that's come off. Bana is gone for 7 and Matthew Boast picks up the wicket. IND: 221/7 after 44 overs
Kaushal Tambe moves on to 33 off 39 balls with his second boundary of the innings. Tambe made a bit of room and carves it over extra cover. IND: 214/6 after 43 overs
Yash Dhull played a captain's knock of 82 out of India's total of 195/6 at the end of the 39th over. Direct hit there by Simelane. Can India score well in the last 10 overs to set a target of more than 250?
Dhull has done well in steering India towards the right total so far.
Lbw!! Can you believe that? Dewald Brevis strikes! with a shortish delivery, and Bawa is late on the pull. The left-hander was trapped in front and hit on the back leg. IND: 159/5 after 33 overs
Dhull and Bawa have added 29 runs, taking India's total past 150. Its time for a drink's break. India: 155/4 after 32 overs
A captain's knock so far from Yash Dhull! IND: 133/4 after 29 overs
After the 100 came up for India, their captain has opened his arms and has played a couple of fluent strokes to the fence. The cut through point, off Mickey Copeland, is a treat to watch. IND: 115/3 after 25 overs
Nishant Sindhu gets going with a fine shot over extra cover, it was pitched short and outside off and the batter won't miss that one. Sidhu is unbeaten on 11 off 14 and has already hit two fours. IND: 97/3 after 23 overs
Another leg before the wicket! It's becoming quite a pattern here. He picked the wrong length to sweep and paid the price for it. Rasheed departs just when the partnership was building. IND: 84/3 after 21 overs
Poor line and length from the South African youngsters. They need to get their act together before the Indian duo of Yash Dhull and Shaik Rasheed take this game away. They have already added 50 runs off 54 deliveries! IND: 61/2 after 14 overs
Yash Dhull and Shaik Rasheed have steered India to 50/2. However, there was a moment of lapse in concentration from Shaik Rasheed as he edged one to the slips but the catch was dropped by Valintine Kitime.
0 0 0 1 Wd5 Wd Wd Wd 4 0 = 13 from the Aphiwe Mnyanda over. Poor line from the Protea pacer. After a good spell of bowling, he has been a bit wayward this over. The keeper is having a tough time behind the wicket. IND: 38/2 after 8 overs
Shaik Rasheed takes the attack to Matthew Boast and the first one is a pull over mid-wicket and the next one is a drive past mid-on. India needed this push. IND: 25/2 after 7 overs
Aphiwe Mnyanda strikes again and once again he does the damage with the inswinger. Full and straight and Raghuvanshi mad the error of shuffling too much and he is caught plumb in front. India have lost both their openers. IND: 14/2 after 6 overs
