
After the Pakistan cricket team chased down a total of 345 in their Cricket World Cup clash against Sri Lanka — thereby setting a record for the highest-ever total chased down in a World Cup encounter — they made their way to Ahmedabad by Hyderabad for their crunch clash against India on Saturday.
While the action on Saturday is likely to keep fans and players on the edge in the coming days, the Pakistan team was given a warm welcome in Ahmedabad.
In fact, the team’s history-making run chase was also celebrated by the cabin crew of their flight, which served them a cake congratulation them on their feat.

The city of Ahmedabad also gave the team a warm welcome. The players were welcomed into their hotel with a shower of flower petals, the sound of dhols, a traditional scarf and by performers doing a traditional dance.

Batting second in Hyderabad, Pakistan were set a target of 345 by Sri Lanka, who were spurred by centuries from Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama.
However, the Pakistan team chased it down with easy, with six wickets in hand thanks to Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan.
On Saturday, India will take on Pakistan in their third game after defeating Afghanistan on Wednesday. The Narendra Modi Stadium, with a capacity of 1,32,000, is expected to be full for the game.
