UPA opens JPC deadlock but runs into Telangana

TRS has threatened to continuously disrupt House on its separate state demand.

Accusing the government of delaying the formation of Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti today said it will continue to disrupt proceedings in the Lok Sabha till a timeframe is announced for carving out the separate state.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao said with the support of the NDA and other parties,TRS will continue to raise its demand for a separate Telangana.

“The Prime Minister himself was present in the House, but he remained a silent spectator to our agitation. It is very unfortunate,” he told reporters outside Parliament.

Rao,whose party has two MPs in the Lok Sabha, demanded the Centre should come out with a fixed timeframe for the creation of Telangana.

The issue of separate Telangana generated heat in the Lok Sabha, which witnessed three adjournments today as TRS,TDP and some Congress members vociferously raised the issue.
