Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election rallies on Thursday in Srinagar and Katra to campaign for BJP candidates contesting the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, the party said on Wednesday.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on September 19 to address a mega BJP rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir Park, Srinagar ahead of Assembly elections,” a party spokesperson said. Around 30,000 party workers are expected to attend.

“Senior BJP Leader Mohammad Anwar Khan has been designated as the in-charge for the rally,” he added.

Modi will then proceed to Katra of Jammu, where he will address a public meeting.

The remaining two phases of the Jammu and Kashmir polls will be held on September 25, and October 1, while the counting of the votes will be undertaken on October 8.

Nadda in Haryana

BJP President J P Nadda will address party workers at Rohtak of poll-bound Haryana on Wednesday.

Ahead of the rally, he will also release the party’s manifesto, titled Sankalp Patra. Haryana votes in a single phase on October 5, results of which will be declared on October 8.

Global food regulators summit to begin

India will host the second edition of Global Food Regulators Summit during September 19-21 in the national capital, where delegates of more than 70 countries will brainstorm on key regulations.

The summit is being organised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the aegis of the Union Health and Family Welfare ministry. The first edition of this summit was held in July 2023 in India as a co-branded event of G20.

President Murmu in MP

President Droupadi Murmu will address the Safai Mitra Sammelan and lay the foundation stone for the Indore-Ujjain Six-lane Road Project at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

She will also grace the 14th convocation of the Devi Ahilya University at Indore, an official statement said.
