With his bail plea set to come up before the Karnataka High Court on Thursday,former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa returned to the Bangalore central prison,ending his hospital hopping that began soon after he was arrested on October 15 on the directions of a court hearing complaints of corruption against him.
Yeddyurappa,68,who complained of chest pain soon after he was taken to the central prison on October 15,was cleared of any heart complications on Tuesday at a government-run heart specialty hospital but went to the multi specialty government-run Victoria Hospital for what
doctors described as co-morbid conditions including hypertension,diabetes and a backache.
However,on Wednesday,the former chief minister decided to do a complete u-turn and returned to the central prison. A close aide said Yeddyurappa decided to rough it out as mandated by the courts after being hurt by remarks made by national leaders of the BJP and the media that he was trying to avoid prison time.
Two bail pleas filed by Yeddyurappa for release in the two corruption complaints are to be heard by a judge of the High Court on Thursday. The bail pleas are expected to be opposed by advocates on the opposite side on technical grounds.
Petition seeking cancellation of bail to BSY sons filed in HC
BANGALORE: A petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to family members of B S Yeddyurappa,arrested in an alleged land scam case,was moved in the High Court here on Wednesday. Advocate Sirajin Basha,whose private complaint landed Yeddyurappa in jail,filed the petition praying for cancellation of bail granted by the Lokayukta court to two sons and the son-in-law of the former CM.
Basha in his application submitted that Yeddyurappas sons B Y Raghavendra,Lok Sabha member,and B Y Vijendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar and BJP MLA Hemachandra Sagar,faced similar allegations as Yeddyurappa.
The petition has been listed for hearing on Thursday before
Justice B V Pinto,who will also take up the bail plea by Yeddyurappa.
