The Kerala Government on Friday said it was disappointed that the states long-pending demand for a separate railway zone had not been met by the Rail Budget, though some requests had been conceded. State Law Minister in charge of Railways,M Vijayakumar, expressed disappointment that the budget neglected the railway zone, which was expected to boost railway development in Kerala.
He said it was a matter of concern that sufficient allocation had not been made to set up the proposed coach factory in Palakkad and wagon factory in Cherthala.
