The death toll in the unrelenting heatwave, sweeping across Andhra Pradesh, has gone up to 566 with reports of 72 more people dying of sunstroke, official sources said on Thursday.
Of the total 566 deaths reported so far, Nalgonda district has accounted the highest number of 119 deaths, followed by East Godavari (85) and West Godavari (63), sources said. Fifty-nine deaths were reported from Prakasam followed by Karimnagar (52), Krishna, Guntur and Nellore recorded 44, 46 and 30 deaths respectively.
