At the forefront of this culinary revolution is Jiishu Bansal, founder, Mie.Roboluscious Robo Restaurant. “As we noticed that the eating enthusiasm was waning, we introduced the concept for Mie.Roboluscious from our desire to have a distinctive dining experience. When the concept of automated kitchens was already gaining traction in nations like Singapore and Japan, we did not want our own country to be left behind in these technological advancements,” he told indianexpress.com.
Located in Sector 104, Noida, the restaurant combines cutting-edge technology with innovative cuisine to provide an unparalleled dining experience. It is a place “where technology meets flavour in the most delicious way,” says Bansal.
At the restaurant, the robots are not only silent servers, but are capable of conversing with the customers and keep them entertained at the same time. The restaurant boasts of the nation’s first-ever talking robot serves — Mishu and Mishi — who are entirely built in India as a part of the Make in India project.
These friendly robots are equipped with an Alexa-like feature that allows patrons to converse with them, ask questions and receive responses. “All you need to say is ‘echo’ and ask anything like ‘echo, what is the weekly special menu?’, and the robot will answer all your queries,” explains Bansal.
Adding to this is the feature where the robots can give the customer a memorable birthday surprise by singing birthday songs while bringing them the cake. “This concept is semi-AI technology — based on which the robot works. With the help of programing and coding, the robot serves you the food without worrying about spillage as it has motion sensors, so that if anybody comes in front of them, it will stop and ask them to move aside,” shares Bansal.
What sets Mie.Roboluscious apart is its seamless integration of fusing robotic precision with gastronomic artistry — with a mission to redefine dining for food enthusiasts around the world. The fusion ambience of the restaurant also caters to the preferences of all generations with seating arrangements for each age group. “It is an ideal spot for everyone because the walls are constructed with a blend of classic paintings and modern artwork,” says Bansal.
The founder of the restaurant believes that this technology has several benefits. “Firstly, due to the robots the place has become a centre of attraction for dining, especially for kids. The serving has also become easy and entertaining, along with being efficient. More than that, the technology has helped reduce serving time and keep the guests entertained in their waiting time.”
Some special features also include safe, hygienic and social distancing practices adopted by the robots to prevent any risk of infection or bacteria transfer. Additionally, customers who are interested in current affairs, can ask the robots about all the recent news and updates.
This technology also helps reduce language barriers as it can translate as instructed. No matter what language you speak, there will not be any hassle to explain anything to the waiters. Just say it to the robot and it will translate it in the language required.
“We have opened up a world of limitless possibilities with the use of advanced robotic technology — effortlessly fusing the skills of our robotic servers’ mechanics with our culinary knowledge. Robots may increase everyone’s enjoyment and convenience of dining out.
