Excerpts:

What is your idea of fitness?

Subhash: My idea of fitness revolves around maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle that encompasses both physical and mental well-being. For me, fitness is not just about having a toned body or following a strict diet—it is about nurturing a holistic approach to overall health.

In terms of my fitness routine, I believe in a diverse mix of activities to keep myself engaged and motivated. I enjoy a combination of cardio exercises, such as running or cycling, to boost my stamina and cardiovascular health. I also like incorporating strength training exercises like weightlifting and resistance training to build muscle strength and tone my body. To enhance flexibility and maintain a sense of calm, I practice yoga and meditation. Yoga not only helps me stay physically agile but also provides mental clarity and stress relief. It allows me to focus on my breathing and connect with my inner self.

Do you follow any diet?

Subhash: I do not adhere to a specific or restrictive diet plan. Instead, I prioritise following a balanced and nutritious eating plan that includes a variety of wholesome foods. My meals usually consist of a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants for overall health.

I also include healthy fats from sources like avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil. One of the foods that I particularly love incorporating into my diet is almonds. I start my day by consuming a handful of almonds. Almonds are not only delicious but also offer numerous health benefits. They are rich in healthy fats, protein, fibre, and essential vitamins and minerals. I also ensure that I stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water and herbal teas.

While I prioritise nourishing my body with wholesome and nutritious foods, I also understand the importance of enjoying life and allowing myself occasional treats. I firmly believe that incorporating cheat meals into my routine, in moderation, is not detrimental to my overall well-being and can help reduce cravings and maintain a balanced diet.

When it comes to my daily routine, I often wake up feeling hungry, so I make sure to snack on something that provides a quick burst of nutrients. To give you a glimpse of my meal plan, I usually start my day with a nutritious breakfast consisting of a bowl of fresh fruits, yoghurt, and almonds.

For lunch, I prefer a balanced meal with a good mix of proteins, vegetables, and whole grains. Some of my favourite lunch options include grilled chicken or fish, steamed vegetables, and quinoa or brown rice. Snacks between meals often include almonds, which provide a satisfying crunch and a boost of energy. For dinner, I opt for lighter options like salads or soups, along with lean proteins and a variety of vegetables.

How do you manage to find time for yourself in your day-to-day schedules?

Subhash: Finding time for myself amidst busy day-to-day schedules can be challenging, but it is a priority for me. I firmly believe that self-care is crucial for maintaining balance and mental well-being. To manage my time effectively, I organise my schedule in a way that allows me to allocate dedicated ‘me-time’. It could be something as simple as enjoying a quiet cup of tea, reading a book, or practising mindfulness and meditation.

These moments of self-care are crucial for recharging, staying focused, and staying grounded amidst the demands of my profession. It is important to remember that fitness is a journey that requires dedication and perseverance. I make it a point to incorporate exercise, maintain a balanced diet, and prioritise self-care in my daily routine.

What are your skincare routines, including any home remedies you highly recommend, and what makes them effective?

Subhash: My skincare routine involves a combination of gentle cleansing, moisturising, and protection from the sun. To begin with, I make sure to cleanse my face thoroughly using a mild cleanser suited for my skin type. This step helps to remove any dirt, excess oil, or makeup residue, allowing my skin to breathe and stay fresh. Following this, I apply a nourishing moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated and supple.

Moisturising is crucial to maintain the skin’s moisture barrier and prevent dryness or flakiness. Sun protection is of utmost importance in my skincare routine. I always ensure that I apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an appropriate SPF before stepping out, regardless of the weather. This helps shield my skin from harmful UV rays, preventing sun damage and premature ageing.

Apart from these essential steps, I also believe in the power of home remedies to enhance the health and appearance of the skin. One home remedy I highly recommend is using natural ingredients like honey, yoghurt, and turmeric to create DIY face masks.

Honey is known for its moisturising and antibacterial properties, yogurt helps to soothe and exfoliate the skin gently, while turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory and brightening effects. Another effective home remedy I practice is drinking an ample amount of water throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated from within. Staying hydrated not only helps flush out toxins but also contributes to plump and radiant skin.

What does fashion mean to you? How do you want to work on yourself?

Subhash: Fashion is more than just stylish clothes or trendy accessories; it is a form of self-expression and a reflection of one’s personality. For me, fashion goes hand in hand with inner beauty and confidence. When you feel good from within, it reflects in the way you carry yourself and the choices you make in terms of fashion.

I like staying updated with the latest trends while staying true to my personal style. I enjoy exploring different fashion designers, and experimenting with diverse silhouettes, colours, and textures. It is about finding garments that make me feel confident, and comfortable, and reflect my inner self.
