Nita Ambani doesn’t shy away from a little bling and sparkle, whether it be her choice of ensembles or accessories. The chairperson and founder of Reliance Foundation was recently spotted attending the opening night of Phantom of the Opera at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, where she chose a mouse brown silk sari with a bejewelled lining as her outfit of the night. Signature pulled back hair in a neat bun and diamond stud earrings tied together her look, but it was her timepiece that caught netizens’ eye.
The Ambani lady was seen flaunting a diamond encrusted watch from luxury brand Patek Philippe, whose retail price boasts a whopping $4,28,450, which roughly translates to Rs 3.72 crore.
According to the brand’s official website, the Nautilus Haute Joaillerie by Patek Phillipe comes in a new rose gold model, entirely paved with diamonds set “snow-like” on the case, bezel and bracelet. On the dial, the rows of stones are arranged in the relief of the small waves typical of the Nautilus women’s collection.
For excellent readability, the watch is equipped with hands, hour markers and Arabic numerals with a luminescent coating. The rose gold case houses a self-winding calibre visible through a transparent sapphire crystal caseback. The timepiece is also illuminated by the glow of 2,364 brilliant-cut diamonds of Top Wesselton Pure quality (11.63 ct).
The clock has a mechanical self-winding movement with a calibre of 26‑330 S C/435, date aperture and centre seconds. The rose gold-tone diamond set features an 18 carat rose gold case and bracelet, with 2,364 diamonds weighing 11.63 carats in total. The dial features applied gold indexes and numerals with luminescent coating.
A transparent see-through case back, cushion case shape, a case size of 35 mm and a diamond set fold over with safety release clasp are some of its additional features. The luxury timepiece is also water resistant at 30 metres per 100 feet.
