Records with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax reveal that on April 12, 2010, Vasundhara Raje, who had earlier that year resigned as the leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, travelled from Delhi to Dehradun and back on a plane chartered by then IPL chief Lalit Modi. Modi’s wife Minal was also on the flight.

Modi settled the bill of Rs 5.51 lakh on July 26, 2010, through cheque.

A fortnight after they took the flight, the IPL controversy broke out, claiming Modi’s job.

A month before she flew on Modi’s plane, Raje stayed at Mumbai’s Four Seasons Hotel which was billed to BCCI. ED and I-T records also show that, in the same period, others flew on flights chartered by Modi, including media giant Rupert Murdoch. Modi has now said Murdoch is behind the row.
