Madhya Pradesh: 12 killed, 30 injured in bus-truck collision

The bus was on its way to Kukshi from Dhamnod in the district this afternoon when it collided with the speeding truck near Singhana toll booth in Manawar Police Station area.

Twelve persons, including three children, were killed Friday and 30 others were injured when the bus they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck near Karoli village in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district.

The bus was on its way to Kukshi from Dhamnod in the district Friday afternoon when it collided with the speeding truck near Singhana toll booth in Manawar Police Station area, Dhar District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Hingankar said.

“Some passengers died on the spot, while others succumbed to their injuries in different hospitals. The deceased include three women and as many children,” he said.

The injured are undergoing treatment in Manawar and Barwani hospitals, the SP said.

Indore Division Commissioner Sanjay Dube said a rescue operation is being carried out by the district administration.

Further investigation is on.
