Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana 2025: The Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) completes a decade today, Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The scheme was first launched in April 2015 to provide collateral-free credit to micro-entrepreneurs, boosting self-employment and financial inclusion.
The PMMY offers collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm small and micro enterprises to support a wide range of income-generating activities in diverse industries like manufacturing, trading, and services, in addition to, allied agricultural ventures like dairy, poultry, and bee-keeping.

According to the latest PIB press release, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) has notably sanctioned over 52 crore loans worth ₹32.61 lakh crore, with women accounting for 68 per cent of all Mudra beneficiaries.

Following the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana’s commencement in 2015, Tamil Nadu has received the largest disbursement among states (₹3,23,647.76 crore as of February 28, 2025).
Uttar Pradesh follows with ₹3,14,360.86 crore, and Karnataka ranks third with ₹3,02,146.41 crore.
Furthermore, West Bengal and Bihar were granted substantial disbursals of ₹2,82,322.94 crore and ₹2,81,943.31 crore, respectively.
Maharashtra ranked sixth with ₹2,74,402.02 crore, highlighting the scheme’s widespread influence across key states over the last decade, meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir had the highest loan disbursement among Union Territories, with ₹45,815.92 crore over 21,33,342 accounts.
