Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s lead actor Rohit Purohit and his wife Sheena Bajaj were blessed with a baby boy on Monday. The couple shared the great news on social media, and Rohit also said that the mother and baby were doing fine. Recently, in an interview, Sheena and Rohit had also opened up about the challenges they faced in getting pregnant.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Rohit Purohit wrote, “It’s a boy! Blessed.” Commenting on the post, his co-star Romit Raj said, “Super News… God bless Baby with All the Happiness, Love & Success.” Others also filled the comments section with congratulatory messages and blessings for the newborn and the new parents.

Recently, Sheena and Rohit shared in an interview how the journey with the pregnancy was. Rohit had said, “This journey has been very difficult for Sheena. She decided to get pregnant at a time when I was completely away, and I was shooting continuously. There were a lot of complications initially, so I told her to drop the idea and wait for some time, but she had made up her mind. For six years, Sheena was not ready to have a child; we just kept pushing it.”

Sheena had told Nayandeep Rakshit during the interview, “I thought we both were enough for each other, why increase the population. I wasn’t inclined to be a mother, but when I held my close friend’s baby for the first time, it changed my mind. I had some health complications, and I suffered through PCOD I was going to get operated on to get my cyst removed. I was working back-to-back, so I didn’t want to sit behind either. Eventually, the maternal instinct kicked in.”

Sheena also recalled slipping into depression when doctors said it was hard for her to conceive. Rohit recalled she took such strong medications that at one point, he was scared for her life. Rohit and Sheena got married in 2019. The couple had announced in April that they were expecting their first child.

Rohit Purohit started his acting career in 2009, and he joined Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2024. Sheena, on the other hand, has been a part of shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Thapki Pyaar Ki, etc.
