Social media influencer Nagma Mirajkar entered Bigg Boss 19 with her boyfriend Awez Darbar. Unfortunately, Nagma got evicted from the show last Sunday. Now, in an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Nagma has spoken about her journey on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show. She also expressed disappointment in Amaal Mallik’s passing a comment about her and Awez.
Being amongst the first two contestants to get evicted from Bigg Boss 19, Nagma is sad, but she says her journey was fun. “It was 22 days, but it feels like I was in that house for 1-2 months. It was a lot of fun. My health didn’t support me, but no regrets. The first week passed by in adjusting, and when Salman sir said we were not seen on the first Weekend Ka Vaar, I couldn’t understand his feedback. I was actively involved in all conversations and fights, but that was not seen in the episodes. People who were louder than me, their cuts were used. And then I fell sick. Due to the medicines, I would be drowsy all day. I was on heavy medication, so I think that majorly hampered my game. I learnt a lot from this experience, though. I was not trying to be someone else in the show, so I am happy about that,” she shared.
Right after the first nominations, Amaal Mallik had commented on Awez Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar. Amaal had said that they were being nice to him because he gets them a lot of work outside the show. While these comments drew backlash from the public, Nagma too was hurt by what the music composer said. She said, “Amaal made some comments about us that were not needed. I felt that we were genuinely nice to him on the show, but still, he commented on how he gets us work in the first week itself. Those comments were heartbreaking, and I don’t know what was on his mind at that time. He said we were being nice to him because he gives us work outside. Nobody just gives work like that; they give work in exchange for something. It was not expected out of Amaal.”
Sharing her views on who is being genuine in the game, Nagma Mirajkar pointed out that Baseer Ali is playing it safe and being nice to everyone. She also spoke about Kunickaa Sadanand and Gaurav Khanna. Nagma said, “Kunickaaji is very real, but she is stubborn. Some of her comments are hurtful. She doesn’t understand that she is saying the wrong things, and she has a bossy nature, but that is limited to the kitchen. She is unapologetically herself. She has this attitude that she won’t change. It is good for her, but some people don’t like that. So if she changes that, she will go very far in the game. She was very sweet with me and Awez. Gaurav is a very good planner. He is a very good person. I want him to go head-on in the game and stop planning. I also want Awez not to hold back anymore. Gaurav needs to be more vocal. Right now, he is stuck in his own plans to play the game, but I told him to execute his plans when I was leaving.”
Lauding Tanya Mittal’s personality and her game, Nagma called her a showrunner and said, “Tanya is very entertaining. She is living in her delusional world. We used to enjoy talking to her. We would purposely talk to her and listen to her stories. Her conversations are harmless. We need someone like her in the house; she has a showrunner vibe.”
During a fight last week, Baseer Ali was seen commenting on Awez Darbar. Baseer said that Awez had cheated on Nagma several times and would text a new girl every two days. Addressing the same, Nagma replied, “Bringing a topic from outside on the show was completely not needed. I don’t understand the need for him to bring this up; it was very ugly. All I want to say is that before coming on the show, Awez and I were very clear about ourselves. We have been in a relationship for so many years; these things don’t affect us. We are planning to get married soon. I wanted to share this good news after coming from Bigg Boss. I don’t want to take this in another direction. I want people’s blessings. They all loved the proposal. I want to take this ahead on a positive note. We are together, and I don’t want to entertain any other topics.”
Awez Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar were said to be taking the plunge on December 18 this year. But the festivities were pushed back after the couple signed Bigg Boss 19. Talking about the new wedding plans, Nagma revealed, “We were supposed to get married by the end of this December, but till then Bigg Boss had not happened. The show will go on till December, and I am rooting for Awez to win. We postponed the wedding because we don’t know till when the show will go on, and he might have some commitments to fulfill after he comes out. So we will get married early next year, hopefully in the first half of 2026.”
