Krushna Abhishek agrees that Sunil Grover’s return to The Great Indian Kapil Show ‘made a huge difference’: ‘He has a fanbase that we got back’

Regarding his journey with Kapil Sharma, Krushna Abhishek said, “It is now with Kapil’s show that people feel that we have been working together, but we go back way back. Since Comedy Circus, we have known each other and it has been a lovely experience. This show has a lot of magic. I love Kapil and we all love each other. What is great is that the cast respects each other’s talent and that is reflected through the show.”

When asked about the chances of Sumona Chakraborty and Bharti Singh’s return on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Krushna jokingly said that it is a question that should be asked to Netflix. He also went on to say that Sunil Grover’s return to the show has been a fruitful one. “Yes, Sunil is a very talented person, he has a very different kind of comedy. He has a very subtle style. He is very different from Kapil, me, and Kiku. It has made a huge difference after he rejoined us. He has a fanbase that we got back,” he said.

Krushna Abhishek also spoke about his equation with Archana Puran Singh and if she has ever been offended by their jokes. “She has never gotten offended. We keep cracking jokes on her even off camera. She has become used to it and she takes it sportingly. Our association with her has been since 2008.”

Krushna Abhishek lastly spoke about his characters Sapna and Mona getting immense popularity. He said, “Characters never become hit with just two or three episodes. We need to keep playing them again and again. We have polished it again and again. Before Sapna, a massage parlor concept had not appeared on TV, so we thought we would do that and it worked. The way I play these characters, I love them too. I used to play an air hostess earlier, so this one is inspired by that. We have a lot of fun. I also keep laughing when I crack those silly jokes.”
