Fans rejoiced as Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover announced their collaboration for The Great Indian Kapil Show, putting an end to their seven-year-long conflict. However, as the trailer of the show was unveiled, many fans raised questions about the absence of comedians Bharti Singh and Sumona Chakravarti, long-time fixtures of Kapil’s shows. In a recent interaction, Bharti shed light on not taking part in Kapil Sharma’s new venture.
Speaking to E Times, Bharti clarified that she currently has “no plans on joining Kapil bhai,” citing her commitments to other projects as the reason. She disclosed her busy schedule, including hosting the dance reality show Dance Deewane and a podcast with her husband, Harsh Limbachiyaa, leaving her with limited time to take up new endeavors. However, she confirmed that if approached for the show, she would gladly accept, stating, “If I get a call then I will surely go.” She added, “I have quite a few things in my kitty and less time to devote to new things.”
Archana Puran Singh, a regular on Kapil’s show, shared insights into the show’s vibe in a recent interview with indianexpress.com. Reflecting on Kapil’s personality, Archana emphasized, “Kapil makes a lot of fun of me, he did that even when we worked on other shows. We all have so much mutual respect that nothing ever like a rivalry or friction comes between us. This is actually Kapil’s great quality that there is no negativity on sets. Our love remains the same even today. The small-town element he brought to the masses has appealed to the country.”
The Great Indian Kapil Show is set to premiere on March 30. The first show will see Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor as guests. The show will air every Saturday at 8 pm.
